To tell you truth, on Friday night i wasn't in the best of spirits for our flight down to Alabama (mom and dad can certainly attest to that) but the flight home to Philadelphia was really pleasant and i was in a much better mood.
You can't really see it in the pictures but at the top of that granite tower is a striking sculpture of the greek god of fire, Vulcan - this sculpture by the way truly accents his bodacious butt (if you've seen him, you know what i'm talking about). And, this tower also sits at the highest point in the area.
As you can see from the happy family portrait, we spent the previous weekend in Birmingham Alabama at Meg and Andrew's sweet home Alabama wedding. I hit the dance floor (on my butt) for few songs, enjoyed the plentiful buffet (which included a grits bar) and sipped a a few virgin cocktails - what a night!
Oh My God! so it's been a long time coming (first attempt was in Mexico City) but i've finally got my lovely lobes pierced. Charlotte and Bailey picked some wonderful bling for my first earrings and my awesome Aunt Bethany held my hand as i sat in my dad's lap and endured the quick and painless process (thanks to the yummy, sugary red lollipop) - Mom stepped in for the final clean up. I finally look like a little girl and can't wait to get some gold hang low hoops in 6 months.
This weekend mom and dad took me over to visit baby Mark, Jordyn, big Mark and Keri at their wonderful house in Brielle New Jersey. After a few hours of chillin' with some toys and eatin' some lunch, big Mark decided to take it up a notch with a boat cruise on the Manasquan River. The boat roared, the wind struck my face and the sun shined silly on my head. A glass of wine or a cold beer would have been nice but all i got was a bottle and a stiff jacket. Can't wait to do it again - Thanks big Mark.
This weekend we had the honor of having Camile (Will, Liam, and Lindsay's dog) over for a sleepover. She is so quiet and cute, a bit stubborn but overall lovely and nice.
So mom and dad decided that as i turn 11 months old i should begin to do what they do - i've seen them for months sit on this white looking seat while making funny water sounds and sometimes a grunt or two and i guess it's my time to give a whirl. So here we go. I know they don't expect me to be using this thing but at least i can get used to the idea so when the time comes, i can be ready to go (literally).
The Please Touch Museum was certainly a perfect place for someone like myself who at this point in life needs to touch everything and anything in sight - some things were a bit above my head (figuratively and literally) but for the most part i was pretty much satisfied with the level of energy and excitement from all my peers. I got to drive the trolly, eat some bricks, pet some pigs, play with plastic and stand in front of body morphing mirrors - I can't wait for my next museum experience.
So mom and dad took me to the Please Touch museum for what we all hoped would be an interesting first experience. Well the place was off the hook crazzy with kids (a little too off the hook if you ask me) but i did get a chance to check out the life size Alice in Wonderland tea party. I tried to slip some tequila in there but for some reason, they were really non responsive.
I took some time out of my really busy day to hang with Heather, baby Gabe and Megan on Kelly Drive. it was nice to see the girls but my true interest was in baby Gabe - he had just gotten back from his one month check up where he weighed in at a whopping 13.5 pounds (i think i weighed that much at 7 months).
I guess i'm big enough now to finally get a ride on dad's folding bike. The view from up there was awesome and my feet almost reach the pedals - soon enough, i'll be taking it for a solo ride around the hood.
